The Google Home has only been out for about 6 months or so and while it may look nicer than the Amazon Echo, it’s been behind a variety of features. Well, today, it’s gaining one feature the Echo has had for quite some time: recipes.
Starting today, Google’s AI-powered home speaker has access to over five million recipes from Bone Bon Appetite, The New York Times, Food Network and others.
One cool feature is that you can now look for a recipe on the web or via Google Assistant on your phone and then send the recipe right to your Google with the click of a button. Pretty cool.
You’ll also be able to ask the Home questions about your recipe such as “how much better do I need?” It’s also smart enough to know that if you ask for something like “how much baking soda do I need?” when in fact you really need baking power, it will tell you. Neat right? It doesn’t end there, either. It can do all those things and still play music, set timers and answer other questions too.
This new feature is rolling out all Home users should get it over the course of the coming week.
